Prior-service Soldiers bring valuable experience, perspective, and leadership to Army ROTC. Whether you are transitioning from active duty, the Army Reserve, or Army National Guard, USC Army ROTC can provide a pathway to complete your degree and earn a commission as an Army officer. Your previous military experience can give you a strong foundation as you learn the responsibilities and expectations of leading Soldiers as an officer.

Our program works with prior-service students to identify the appropriate path toward commissioning based on their individual circumstances, military background, academic progress, and remaining time in school. Prior-service cadets can continue to build on the skills they developed in the enlisted ranks while gaining the education and leadership experience necessary to succeed as officers. If you are ready to take the next step in your military career, Army ROTC can help you turn your prior service into a foundation for future leadership.
